Born in Rhodes, a secluded mountain village in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Highlands, Wilde Als takes its name from the resilient indigenous plant Artemisia Afra.

All of our primary suppliers cowhide rugs, Nguni mats, game skins, and sheepskins are 100% ethically sourced as sustainable by-products:

Cowhides & Nguni Mats: Sourced as a natural by-product of the meat industry, including iconic Texas Longhorn hides from Brazil and indigenous Nguni cattle hides.

Game Skins: Authentic South African game skins (such as Zebra and Giraffe) sourced strictly as by-products of regulated conservation, management, and meat industries in South Africa.

Sheepskins: Premium New Zealand Merino and Himalayan sheepskins selected for their exceptional quality, soft texture, and natural origin.

Yes. Uvukwa Organics' indigenous African botanical skincare range is 100% natural and plant-based. We use pure native botanical extracts and wild-harvested plant oils rooted in traditional African herbal heritage, free from synthetic chemicals, parabens, and harsh additives.

Natural hides and sheepskins are naturally stain-resistant and durable. To care for your Wilde Als cowhide or sheepskin rug, regularly shake it outside or vacuum using the suction-only setting (avoid rotary beaters). Clean spot spills immediately with a damp cloth and mild, neutral soap or using our Hide Cleaner sollution.

We want you to love your handcrafted piece. Because our hides, sheepskins, and artisan products are 100% natural and unique, slight natural variations in color, texture, and size are to be expected and celebrated. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns or exchanges on unused items in their original condition within 14 days of delivery.
